How To Be An Entrepreneur

Updated: Mar 26, 2022

The entrepreneurial spirit is not just for business - it's also in our relationships and self-esteem and affects everything we do in life.

An entrepreneur is not only a person who does business, although that is the traditional definition of the word. Rather -

An entrepreneur is a person who is creative and solves problems, take chances and makes things happen, in every aspect of life.

Having started his first business at 13-years-old and built companies in over 20 different sectors, serial entrepreneur David Samuel examines what it means to be an entrepreneur in attitude and life.

1. Their Mind Is Wide Open

An entrepreneur is a person whose mind is so open and creative that it can see a benefit in any situation, no matter how great a disaster it may appear to be.

For example, when David was doing business consulting for family-owned companies going bankrupt, his job was to save, revive, and rebuild the company.

The first meeting is for the owner to tell me all the problems and with each problem I responded with; that’s wonderful, fantastic!

Needless to say, the owner would get frustrated at David because he's telling them that the company's worst problems are good things!

I saw all his problems as opportunities that could be used to transform the company, making it special or unique above all the competition.

2. They See The Benefit In Everything

An entrepreneur is a person who sees everything in a way that it can be transformed into a benefit, and this is how new products are created. For example with Velcro -

The Velcro® brand of hook and loop was invented by a man named George de Mestral in the 1940s while hunting in the Jura mountains in Switzerland.

Mr. de Mestral, a Swiss engineer, realised that the tiny hooks of the cockle-burs were stuck on his pants and in his dog's fur and wondered how they attached themselves.

The entrepreneur has the quality of seeing a benefit in everything, no matter how big a disaster it appears to be. How? Because they do not just give up in frustration, they look for what is hidden and use it to their advantage.

Every coin shows only one side on top while the other one is hidden from view. Our mind can see, in our imagination, what is hidden below.

3. Their Mind Stays Calm

The other quality of being an entrepreneur is a mind that stays calm and does not take things personally or get upset.

Instead of pushing people away, they find a way to have harmonious communication and relationship with everybody, so they get the support of everyone they work with - their employees, clients, or investors.

There are many other qualities to being an entrepreneur that are not taught in school and these are the things you will learn in our workshop on reaching the pinnacle of your career.
